During the last 30 years, founder DeeDee Antonelli convened a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic team of trainers who have helped hundreds of clients achieve their health and personal fitness goals.

As a sought after expert in the field of fitness and body building, DeeDee was one of the first female athletes featured in Pumping Iron 2, one of the first books of its kind to highlight professional women’s body building. She has also graced the cover of Zoom Magazine and has been featured in the Boston Herald, Boston Globe, Boston Magazine and Newton Magazine.

Each of the trainers at Future Shapes has over 10 years of experience and has a uniqe perspective on personal training. The team at all Future Shapes locations are made up of athletic trainers, physical therapists, exercise physiologists and nationally certified professionals.

GETTING STARTED

Define your Fitness Goals
What do you hope to accomplish with your trainer? Strength? Fitness? Better Nutrition? Injury Rehabilitation? Weight Loss? It’s best to have specific goals in mind when you come in for your initial consult. We will tailor your exercise regimen to help you accomplish those goals quickly and efficiently.

What days and times are convenient for you?
Does your schedule permit you to workout multiple times a week? Are morning or lunchtime hours more convenient for you? We suggest having an idea of your realistic availability and we will help you construct a fitness routine to help you accomplish your goals.

Dress intelligently – work out comfortably.
Lightweight, breathable clothing is best for exercising. Anything from shorts and your favorite cotton t-shirt to tank tops and cotton lycra exercise-gear will do. Comfort is the name of the game. The more comfortable you feel exercising – the more likely you will continue with your workout program. Quality supportive sneakers are highly recommended.

Consult Your Physician
Before starting a fitness program, it is strongly recommended that you consult your physician. During your initial consultation, please be sure to inform your trainer about any medical conditions.

Why do I need a Personal Trainer?
A trainer is a key element to your personal fitness. Expertly trained and certified in how to efficiently and safely achieve personal fitness, a trainer will motivate and educate you about the exercise and nutritional requirements for your body.

How long will it take before I can expect to see results?
The time it will take to realize substantial results will vary depending on your individual goals and your fitness level when you begin training. Some clients see substantial results in just a few weeks, other clients may need to train longer before results are realized.

How many times per week do I need to train with a trainer?
One to five times per week depending upon your personal goals and needs. On average, two days per week is a general recommendation.

What happens during the intitial consultation?
We will achieve a level of understanding concerning your personal fitness goals along with your medical history. This information will be used in recommending a specific fitness program to help you accomplish your goals. We also use the initial consultation to establish your fitness level in order to provide us with an established fitness baseline. We will use your baseline to help track your progress as you continue your fitness routine. Be sure to come to this first session prepared for a workout.
